Testimonials from past attendees

Track C events are always edgy and create a space for meaningful conversations

Your forums are the only one I have come across that genuinely lean into the discomfort of the big questions, everything else feels overly sanitised

Since leaving academia I’ve missed being immersed in conversations that leave my brain bursting with inspiration.

I love the forums Pirooz organises because he beautifully weaves ideas from a range of perspectives and disciplines.

This event is not recorded. When the room is full, it's closed.

About the forum

This thoughtfully curated event will explore the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and its far-reaching impact across key sectors, including health, education, employment, media & communications and, the arts.
Taking an intersectional approach, we will critically examine AI systems through the lenses of bias, power, equity, and ethics.
The program features leading subject-matter experts, including Dr Ruwangi Fernando, Dr Karen Sutherland (SFHEA), Dr Nici Sweaney, Eva Hussain JP, Tim Walshe, Danai Harawa, and Dr Manasi Murthy Mittinty (née Gaikwad), followed by a very special all-youth panel with Ramani Soudarsanam, Akoi Chol, Ikram Mahamed, Sarah Ivey, and Jed Castle.
As organisations and businesses increasingly adopt AI technologies, the potential benefits are significant when these tools are developed and deployed ethically. However, critical questions remain about how humans can meaningfully shape AI’s evolution to ensure it is equitable, responsible, and just.

Where: Geelong Library & Heritage Centre
When: 17th July 2026
